The 2025 “China · Wuhu – Thailand · Chiang Mai” Economic and Trade Cooperation and Investment Promotion Conference was successfully held on May 16, 2025, at Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai. The event was organized and promoted by the Chinese Consulate General in Chiang Mai, with the active participation of key government agencies and private sector representatives from both Wuhu City and Chiang Mai Province.
Wuhu, located in Anhui Province, China, is a dynamic and fast-growing industrial city known for its strong manufacturing base, particularly in the automotive, high-tech, and new energy industries. It is home to major companies such as Chery Automobile, and is recognized as a hub for innovation, logistics, and cross-border trade. Wuhu’s strategic location along the Yangtze River also makes it a key gateway for domestic and international economic activity.

Representatives from Wuhu included the Executive Vice Mayor of Wuhu, Wuhu Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Wuhu Economic and Technological Development Zone, Wuhu Investment Promotion Center, and Chery Automobile .

On the Chiang Mai side, the conference welcomed participation from various economic-related sectors, such as the Bank of Thailand, Northern Region Office, Chiang Mai Provincial Office of Commerce, Board of Investment – Northern Office (Chiang Mai), Thai-Chinese Business Association, Science and Technology Park, Chiang Mai University, Tourism Business Association, China Intelligence Center (CIC), College of Arts, Media and Technology, Chiang Mai University, as well as Chinese banks operating in Chiang Mai, including ICBC and Bank of China.

The conference served as a crucial platform for dialogue, strategic partnership building, and the exploration of new trade and investment opportunities—further reinforcing the enduring cooperation between Wuhu and Chiang Mai.
